EMF was led by Sophomore Caleb Black, who ran a PR of 19:04 and finished 23rd at the District meet. Freshman Keltyn Kirchhoff finished right behind him with a time of 19:08 and 25th place. Grady Bresson, also a freshman, was close to his best time as he finished with a 20:19 and senior Troy Kallhoff ended his career with his best time of the season 22:29.
Kyler Sladek, a junior and lone female runner for the HS EMF team also finished with her best time of the season, 28:23.
It was a chilly day with a little drizzle before the races. I believe everyone brought their A-game and gave it their all. We had a great season, and I hope they are all proud of their efforts. A lot was learned in one season, and many of us are eager to start focusing on next season already.
Troy was a great leader for us this year. His humor and upbeat personality, along with his integrity and work ethic make us all agree that he will be greatly missed.
